Paula Gubar was one of Brisbane’s most talented dressmakers throughout the 1930’s to the 1960’s. Gubar’s family emigrated from Ukraine in 1925, and started a new life in Brisbane. Paula was well known for her wonderful machine embroidery and cutwork, and The Paula Gubar Collection is housed at the Queensland Museum. Learn also about her relationship with “The Fairy House” in Bardon and her own heritage listed home in Moorooka. This is a video presentation for the Annerley Stephens History Group produced by Kerry-Anne Forsythe of Matthews Real Estate in Annerley.
